More About Suffering from Self Hatred.
Understanding the roots of self hatred is the first step towards healing.
What is Self Hatred?
Self hatred is one of the most painful and isolating experiences a person can carry. It is not simply low self esteem or a lack of confidence. It is a deep, persistent inner voice that tells you that you are fundamentally wrong, unworthy or unlovable. Many women live with this voice for decades without ever understanding where it came from or knowing that it is possible to heal.
Where Does Self Hatred Come From?
Self hatred rarely appears out of nowhere. It is almost always rooted in early experiences — childhood wounds, critical or absent parents, trauma, bullying, or simply growing up in an environment where you did not feel safe to be yourself. Over time these experiences become internalised as beliefs about who you are and what you deserve.
How Does it Show Up in Your Life?
Self hatred can show up in many different ways. It might look like perfectionism, people pleasing, self sabotage, destructive relationships, addiction, chronic anxiety or depression. It can make you feel like no matter what you achieve, it is never enough. It can make you feel invisible, ashamed or deeply alone even when surrounded by people who love you.
Why is it So Hard to Heal?
Because self hatred lives so deep inside us, it can feel like it is simply who we are rather than something that happened to us. Many women have tried therapy, self help books and positive thinking — and while these can help, they often do not reach the deeper layers where the real wound lives. True healing requires going to the root.
There is Another Way.
I know this because I have lived it. I spent years hating myself before I found a way through. That journey is what led me to become a psychotherapist and Soul Healer, and it is the foundation of everything I offer. Healing is not only possible — it is your birthright.
You Don't Have to Keep Living This Way.
If any of this resonates with you, I would love to talk. My 12 week programme was created specifically for women who are ready to do the deep work and finally be free.
